A brand new advanced version of the Mobile
Clinic recently had its first showing at the “Wag
& Bone” show at Sandown Park Racecourse. Thousands
of dogs and their owners congregated at the country's
biggest dog show second only to Crufts. One of the country's
most prominent small animal charities, the P.D.S.A, was
asked to act as frontline emergency cover in the event
of any animal casualties. On hearing this, Animedic
offered them the use of the latest version of their acclaimed
Mobile Clinic. This latest
model incorporates full air conditioning and temperature
control, complete 240v and 12v power supplies and anaesthesia.
Other features include electric stainless steel consulting
table, hot & cold running water and various cabinets
to carry all the necessary emergency equipment.
Elaine Pendlebury, senior Veterinary Surgeon for the
P.D.S.A, manned the Clinic for the day. Over 20 cases
were seen throughout the day, ranging from heat stroke
to a severe abdominal bleed from one dog that had been
savaged by another. Elaine said that she found the clinic
to be well equipped and a pleasure to work with. The equipment
levels were of the highest standard and more than capable
of dealing with any situation that could arise.
As a result of the success achieved on the maiden outing
of the new Mobile Surgery,
Animedic have since been commissioned
to build a second Pet Check vehicle for use at shows and
other pet-orientated events.
